Skode's Horse Treats Inc.  is The Original Low Sugar Horse Treat. In 2006, we set the industry standard and we will never back down from our admittedly lofty standards.

We use only ingredients that, quite frankly, we are willing to eat ourselves. Healthy, whole, pure foods that derive their foundations and flavors from Mother Nature -- not from a bottle of synthetic flavorings or an overly processed bag of "feed approved only for livestock." We do not use artificial ingredients. Heck, we don't even use highly processed ingredients. The speciality, minimally processed hays we use in our trail mixes and Enchanted Flower Blossom Cookie, for example, are harvested and sun cured in the state of Washington.

We form long-term relationships with our distributors. So we know exactly where our ingredients come from. And when we taste test our treats -- the humans take the first bites. Sure, the so-called competition might be a little cheaper. But isn't the pride and joy of your life worth the best treat on the market?

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery. But while some companies allude to the hoped-for safety of foods, herbs or treats for sugar sensitive horses, Skode's provides an independent lab analysis. And while other companies talk about their extensive (albeit vague) background with horses, we hire recognized experts in the field of equine nutrition to guide the formulation of our treats.

You will also notice that we don't make grand, sweeping statements about our treats simply being “natural.” We do the the footwork so we can show you the numbers, percentages and specifics. (Please click here to see our Guaranteed Recipe Analysis.) This why when you buy Skode's Horse Treats, you buy "The Worry Free Treat!"

That means treats that are veterinarian approved and/or formulated by a certified herbalist --  and that come with guaranteed starch and sugar levels.  That means lab work at professional laboratories. Testing and re-testing until the NSC levels are low enough for even sugar sensitive horses.  The bottom line: An NSC of 10 percent or less for each of our treat recipes.

Knowledge is power. The power to make healthy, informed choices for your horse.

Because a treat can be a wonderful reward for your horse. And when the resources, time and research are taken to create that treat, the reward can add -- as opposed to detract -- from the nutritional program of your horse. Naturally!
